2025 – An exciting year full of change

Looking back on the past year, we can hardly believe how much has happened. It was an exciting, thrilling, and sometimes nerve-wracking year—but above all, it was a year that allowed us to grow enormously as a team and as a practice.

We said goodbye to our old practice premises on Dorotheenstraße. Packing boxes, clearing out furniture, dismantling equipment—everywhere was a hive of activity. We cleared out, sorted through everything, and in March we completed the big move to our new, larger practice at Friedrichstraße 200. There, it was time to unpack, set up, and furnish the new space.

The start wasn't always easy: technology, tradespeople, and ongoing practice operations all at the same time required a lot of patience on our part. But little by little, the initial difficulties subsided—and today we can say that it was worth it. Step by step, routine set in, and we are proud to have mastered this period together.

Not only have our premises grown, but so has our pediatric cardiology team. The team of doctors led by Dr. Florian Schmidt and Dr. Friederike Günther has been joined by Dr. Franziska Markel and Dr. Mustafa Yigitbasi. We have also welcomed new colleagues in the medical assistant department, and we are delighted to have our trainees on board and to be able to accompany them on their career path. As the practice has grown, the number of our patients has also increased significantly. Everyday life in pediatric cardiology has since become livelier, more turbulent, and more demanding—we first had to get used to the constant hustle and bustle.

This makes the positive feedback we have received all the more touching. The enthusiasm of our young patients, who walk through the new rooms with wide eyes, as well as the joy and gratitude of their parents, often move us deeply—sometimes even to tears. This feedback shows us that all the effort was worth it.

We have also grown online: our Instagram channel (@kinderherz.berlin) continues to develop alongside us, and by the end of the year we already had over 300 followers. Now we are also taking off with TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/@kinderherz.berlinWe greatly enjoy this exchange and see it as a wonderful opportunity to provide insights into our everyday practice.

With a lot of fun in our work, a great team, and a lot of heart, we look back on a successful, eventful, and exciting 2025. We are grateful for all the experiences, encounters, and challenges—and look forward to everything the future has in store for us.
