A new home for heart and soul: our pediatric cardiology department is moving

A move is always an exciting adventure because it involves the health of our youngest patients. The search for a new home for our pediatric cardiology department in Berlin was challenging, but we finally found an ideal new location at Friedrichstrasse 200.

How it all began...

The move began with intensive planning phases. First of all, we had to clarify fundamental issues such as the number of rooms required and the layout of the new practice. Thanks to the creative concepts of our architect and the focused work of our team, the premises slowly took shape. Especially because the well-being of the children was the focus of our design. Under the direction of Andrea, and with the active involvement of the entire Kinderherz team, a warm and inviting interior design was created.

How the construction went...

Of course, not everything went smoothly. The construction work encountered typical obstacles such as delays in permits and unexpected shortages of materials. Despite these challenges, we remained optimistic and did everything we could to complete the practice on time.

What the team has achieved...

Parallel to the construction phase, we were not idle internally either. The entire team got involved in designing the practice according to our ideas - from the kitchen equipment to the range of toys in the waiting room. We also welcomed new employees, including Dr. Franziska Markel, an experienced paediatric cardiologist, and Mustafa Yigitbasi, a paediatric cardiologist and specialist for adults with congenital heart defects (EmaH).

Our new premises offer:

• Individually designed treatment rooms, each with its own theme such as forest or desert.
• A spacious waiting room with lots of surprises for our patients.
• Special preparation and waiting rooms for different needs.
• A modern kitchenette and common room for our team.
• State-of-the-art ultrasound equipment and much more space for our growing number of patients and staff.
