How we measure your weight
To find out, you will be placed on a special scale. The scale is flat and has a black surface and a display on it. You stand on the black surface and the scale shows how much you weigh. It is important that you only stand on the scales and do not jump on them or move around so that the weight can be measured accurately.
How we measure your size
We then measure your height. We use a long measuring tape for this. This tape measure hangs on the wall and has a roller at the top. You stand right under the roller and push your feet back against the wall. The medical assistant carefully pulls the tape measure down until it reaches your head. Then she reads off the number that shows how tall you are. The tape measure helps the doctor to find out how long you are from head to toe.
